FAQs

What can I expect at our parade?

At this time, Pride Hamilton does not have a parade. We will be consulting the community in the future as to how that could look.

What can I expect at our festival?

Our festival is a lively event featuring live music, food vendors, art exhibits, and both informational and small business booths. It's a family-friendly environment where everyone can enjoy themselves and learn more about the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. There will be activities for all ages, so bring your friends and family!

How can I get involved or volunteer?

As we get closer to our Pride Festival, we will open a Google Form for folks to contact us. We also do call outs on our social media for folks to get involved.

Is the event accessible?

Yes, we strive to make all our events as accessible as possible. There will be accessible seating, restrooms, and pathways. If you have specific needs, please contact us ahead of time, and we will do our best to accommodate you. This is a continued effort as individual needs change but the need for inclusion does not. More details will be provided on our website and social media.

Can I bring my pet to the events?

Pets are generally welcome at our outdoor events, as long as they are on a leash and well-behaved. Please check specific event guidelines for any restrictions. Don't forget to bring water and waste bags for your furry friend!

What should I bring to the events?

We recommend bringing comfortable clothing, sunscreen, a water bottle, and a hat. For the festival, bringing cash or a card for food and merchandise vendors is a good idea.

How can I stay updated on upcoming events and news?

You can stay updated by following us on social media, and regularly checking our website. We post all important updates and announcements through these channels.

Are the events family-friendly?

Yes, our events are designed to be inclusive and welcoming for all ages. We have activities and entertainment suitable for children, teenagers, and adults alike.

How do I report an issue or concern during an event?

If you encounter any issues or have concerns during an event, please approach any of our volunteers, directors or security. They are there to assist you and ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.

What safety measures are in place at the events?

We prioritize the safety of all attendees. There will be security personnel on-site, first aid stations, and clearly marked emergency exits. Police officers will be stationed around the exterior perimeters and on the water to deter agitators. We also encourage everyone to look out for one another and report any suspicious activity to event staff immediately.
